Jawzjan: Reports Emerge of a Taliban Commander Sexually Assaulting a Young Girl
News Report | Kabul Times News
Local sources in Jawzjan province report that a Taliban commander named "Qudrat," operating in the Darzab district, is accused of sexually assaulting the young daughter of his landlord.
According to the sources, the incident occurred around 8:30 PM, when the young girl had stepped out of a room. Sources allege that the commander, aided by his bodyguards, forced his way into the home and subsequently assaulted the girl.
The girl's family reportedly lodged a complaint with Mullah Sirajuddin, the Taliban-appointed district governor of Darzab; however, he dismissed the allegation as a smear against the Taliban and threatened the family.
To date, no independent information regarding this incident—or any official action taken in response to the family's complaint—has emerged. This report surfaces amidst a broader pattern of documented violence and sexual abuse against women and girls by individuals affiliated with the Taliban in recent years.
