New US attacks on southern Iran. Explosions reported in several places
As the conflict between the United States and Iran escalates, reports indicate that a new wave of US attacks has targeted various areas of southern Iran.
According to published reports, explosions were heard in the cities of Bandar Abbas, Chabahar, Konarak, Qeshm and some other areas of Hormozgan province, and Iranian air defense systems were activated in several places. There have also been reports of power outages in parts of Chabahar.
It has been claimed on social networks that Lavan Island was also targeted and that more than 20 explosions occurred in Chabahar Port. There have also been reports of US fighter jets flying over Kish and Qeshm, but these have not yet been fully confirmed by independent sources or official authorities.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the operation was aimed at reducing Iran’s ability to threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and followed recent attacks on commercial vessels.
Iranian sources, however, said the country’s armed forces were preparing a response, as tensions in the region reached their highest level in weeks.
