Nighttime fire in Faizabad’s new city; a shop burned down

Local sources in Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan province, reported a fire in the Shahr-e-Naw area.

According to witnesses, the incident occurred on Saturday evening in one of the shops in Shahr-e-Naw, and flames engulfed parts of the building and its belongings. Images released from the scene of the incident show flames spreading and the presence of a number of residents.

Sources say efforts are ongoing to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings. So far, accurate information about the extent of financial losses and the main cause of the fire has not been released.
