The US Secretary of State announced that he has placed Afghanistan on the list of “countries that support unjust detentions.”
The US Secretary of State said in a statement that the Afghan Taliban continues to use detention as a terrorist tactic to gain political advantage, and stressed that this method will not work against the current US administration.
He also called on the Taliban to release Dennis Quayle, Mahmoud Habibi and all US citizens detained in Afghanistan as soon as possible.
