Badshah Sahi, an Afghan national residing in Arlington, has been sentenced to 420 months—equivalent to 35 years—in U.S. federal prison for producing and possessing child sexual abuse material.

Sahi pleaded guilty to the charges on April 1, 2026.

Federal authorities arrested him in February 2025 on charges of sexually assaulting a child; investigators subsequently discovered images, videos, and online communications with minors on his mobile phone.

Prosecutors stated that he had been in contact with children aged 10, 14, and 15, and had filmed the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in one instance.

An official from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations also stated that Sahi had entered the United States in 2021—coinciding with the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan—without undergoing proper security screening.
