Taliban Detain at Least 20 Women and Girls in Kabul’s Taimani District

Kabul | Eyewitnesses and several women in Kabul report that Taliban agents from the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice detained at least 20 women and girls on Saturday in the Taimani district, along Second Street.

According to sources, a pregnant woman was among those detained.

As of now, there is no precise information regarding the reason for the detention, the location to which they were taken, or the fate of these women and girls.

This incident follows numerous reports in recent months of Taliban agents detaining women and girls in Kabul and other Afghan cities for what is described as "failure to observe the required hijab."
