Daikundi; 16-year-old released after Taliban arrest and torture

Local sources in Daikundi say that Taliban forces have arrested a 16-year-old teenager named Suleiman in the Shish area and tortured him to extract a confession from his father about keeping weapons.

According to sources, the Taliban put a plastic bag over the teenager’s head and blocked his airway during interrogation; an action that, according to sources, has worsened his physical condition.

Sources say that Suleiman’s father works as a laborer in Iran and has no history of military activity. The teenager was released on bail after some time and left his village.

Sources also accused Taliban forces at the Shish outpost of harassing residents and said that two other people named Lal Mohammad and Ali Gohar were also forced to provide weapons for the group. The Taliban have not yet commented on these allegations.
