Pentagon releases video of mysterious object in Bagram sky. The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has released new documents on unidentified flying objects, including a video that allegedly shows an unidentified object over Bagram Air Base.

Among these documents is the account of a military pilot who reported seeing a huge and mysterious triangle over Afghanistan in 2002; an object that, according to him, “blocked out the starlight.”

He reported:

“At about 4:30 a.m. local time, [part deleted] noticed that the stars in the sky over Bagram were slowly disappearing. It seemed that something very large was moving from west to east over the area, and it was in the shape of an equilateral triangle. The object was moving silently, at a constant speed and altitude, probably about 150 knots, and no lights were visible.”

The Pentagon on Friday (August 7) released a new set of documents and images related to unidentified flying objects, now known as “unidentified anomalous phenomena” (UAPs).

According to the BBC’s US news partner CBC, the 41 new documents, published on the Pentagon’s website on unidentified flying objects, include a collection of documents, images and videos. The documents were collected from agencies within the Pentagon, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the State Department and the Executive Office of the President.

The oldest document dates back to 1950 and the most recent dates back to 2026.

This is the fifth round of document releases since President Donald Trump issued an executive order in January that requires the military and other government agencies to release more documents about unidentified flying objects. The image is an artistic recreation of a reported incident over Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan that is believed to be related to an unidentified flying object. The incident was reported in June 2002. The image is based on an eyewitness account from a member of the U.S. military. The account is detailed in an FBI document. The FBI created the digital image in 2026 as a visual aid.
What's in the new documents?
The Pentagon's website says that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has filed a report on an unidentified flying object. The report includes a minute and 39 seconds of video recorded by electro-optical and infrared sensors mounted on a U.S. military platform.

The video shows the sensor moving from left to right in the background to track an area of contrast, keeping it generally in the center of the frame. The sensor’s shooting mode and zoom level change several times as the images are captured.

The bulk of the footage consists of the low-quality, blurry videos that have been a staple of UFO revelations in recent years.

The images were captured by military sensors and cameras.

One video released by CENTCOM shows footage captured by a military aircraft over a residential area in the Middle East in the year 2025. In the video, an object appears to be speeding past the camera.

The nature of the event remains unclear, and no definitive explanation has been offered.

Six other newly released videos show different versions of a single incident in which US Special Operations forces spotted an unidentified object over the Gulf of Oman in September 2021.

The videos were actually filmed on a cellphone from the screens inside an AC-130J gunship and show objects that were recorded by the aircraft’s infrared sensors and other detection systems.

An intelligence report released with the videos provides more details about the incident.

According to the report, troops on board the military aircraft observed about 25 of the unidentified phenomena while conducting a live-fire exercise in the Gulf of Oman.

“These objects appeared to be cold orbs flying at low altitudes at speeds between 250 and 1,300 miles per hour, in various formations and performing offensive maneuvers,” the report said. An intelligence report accompanying the video provides more details about the images. The report said troops aboard a military aircraft observed “approximately 25 unidentified strange phenomena” while conducting a live-fire exercise in the Gulf of Oman on September 8, 2021.
