Taliban Intensifies Inspections in Mayimi; Houses of Group Members Are Also Being Searched

Local sources in Badakhshan say that house inspections have increased in Mayimi district and that Taliban forces are even searching the homes of local members of the group and disarming some of them.

According to the sources, two days ago, Taliban Pashtun forces raided the house of Habib, one of the group’s intelligence officers in Mayimi, broke down his door and searched various parts of it. Habib was on duty in the center of Mayimi at the time of the incident.

Local residents say that Taliban forces are also using trained dogs to search houses during these operations; a move that local sources believe indicates increasing distrust among Taliban forces, especially between southern commanders and local Badakhshan forces.
