3.7 million Afghan children at risk of malnutrition; hunger crisis continues

UNICEF has announced that nearly 3.7 million children under the age of five in Afghanistan are at risk of malnutrition; a statistic that raises serious questions about the livelihoods of the people and the claims of improving economic conditions in the country.

According to the report, nearly one million children are suffering from severe acute malnutrition, and children under the age of two account for 83 percent of these cases.

The persistence of such a situation shows that millions of Afghan children are still struggling with hunger and the consequences of the economic and humanitarian crisis.

If the economic and livelihoods of the people have improved, why are millions of children still at risk of hunger and malnutrition?
