Afghanistan; The Silent Graveyard of Women
Kabul Times News | 2026-05-12
Kabul – While the world is busy with various crises, Afghan women are being silently victimized by violence, oppression, and systematic exclusion every day. What is happening in Afghanistan today is not just social restrictions; it is a clear process of gradual destruction of women’s presence in the public, cultural, and human life of the country.
In a land where women have fought for years for education, freedom, employment, and a better future, now the cries of mothers, the forced silence of girls, and the blood of innocent women have shaped the bitter reality of daily life. Reports from different parts of Afghanistan show that violence against women has increased alarmingly and many victims do not even get the opportunity to seek justice.
Girls who are deprived of going to school, women who are deprived of work and participation in society, and mothers who spend their nights in fear and despair are part of the face of Afghanistan today. Human rights activists warn that Afghan women are not only being deprived of their basic rights, but are also being gradually removed from the social scene.
According to published reports, every day news of murder, torture, enforced disappearance or domestic violence against women is published in some corner of the country. Many of these women have been targeted simply because they are women, social or media activists or demand their human rights.
The organization "United Voice of Afghan Women", expressing deep concern over the continued violence and murder of women, has described this situation as a humanitarian disaster and a clear violation of human rights. The organization emphasizes that silencing women's voices is silencing the future of a nation.
The organization has called on international organizations, human rights defenders and the world's conscious conscience not to remain silent about the situation of Afghan women and to take immediate and practical measures to protect the lives, rights and dignity of women.
Despite all the pressures and restrictions, Afghan women remain symbols of resistance, hope, and perseverance; women who, even in the darkest days of the country's history, fight for the right to life, freedom, and humanity.
