Kabul – The New Future Movement for Afghan Women has issued a statement expressing its deep concern over the increase in violence, murder and insecurity of women in Afghanistan and has called on the international community not to remain silent in the face of the critical situation of Afghan women.

The statement states that Afghan women today live in conditions where the scope of restrictions, fear and violence against them is expanding every day. According to the movement, after the Taliban took over, women have not only been deprived of the right to education, work and participation in society, but they have also been deprived of personal security and the right to a normal life.

According to the statement, in recent months, cases of murder of women, domestic violence, honor killings, arrests, disappearances and threats against women have increased significantly. The movement says that a number of women have been killed by their own family members; Victims who are left defenseless in an atmosphere of fear, silence, and lack of access to justice.

Part of this declaration emphasizes: “Every time a woman is killed, not only does a human being die; but a part of the hope, security, and future of society is also destroyed.”

The New Future Movement for Afghan Women has also warned that many cases of violence against women either remain hidden or are forgotten without follow-up and accountability. According to this movement, the continuation of this situation has seriously threatened the lives of millions of women.

Finally, this movement has called on human rights institutions, the media, and the international community not to be indifferent to the situation of Afghan women and not to ignore the voices of victims of violence.

The declaration emphasizes that silence in the face of violence and the murder of women paves the way for more crimes to be committed.
