Kabul Times News | Parwan
Local sources in Parwan province reported a fatal traffic accident in Shinwari district, resulting in the death of 9 people and the injury of 6 others.
According to these sources, a caravan veered off the road and overturned on Tuesday morning on the way to the Astan Valley. All the victims of the incident were residents of Shinwari district.
The injured in the incident have been transferred to the Parwan Provincial Hospital for medical treatment, and the condition of some of them is reported to be critical.
Local Taliban officials say that the incident occurred at a time when the number of traffic accidents in the country has increased during the Eid holidays. According to them, dozens of traffic incidents have been recorded in just three provinces, and recently, in Laghman province, a truck carrying migrants overturned, killing at least 20 people.
Experts say that road damage, speeding and reckless driving are among the main factors behind the increase in traffic accidents in Afghanistan.
