Efforts to promote ginger cultivation in Panjshir province have increased, and this year, 75 acres of land have been directly under cultivation of this plant.
According to local officials, this measure has been taken within the framework of agricultural development programs and with the aim of strengthening the family economy, increasing farmers' incomes, and achieving food self-sufficiency.
Qari Fazlullah Deobandi, Head of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Panjshir, announced that this amount of land has been cultivated in Annaba district in cooperation with farmers and the Department of Agriculture. According to him, efforts are underway to further promote ginger cultivation among farmers in the province.
He added that this program was launched with the aim of increasing farmers' income and developing the local economy, and its initial results are promising.
The hong or anghoza plant also grows naturally on the slopes of the Panjshir mountains. Due to the high economic value and reasonable income of this plant, officials are trying to expand its cultivation instead of some low-income crops.
On the other hand, the farmers of Panjshir have also welcomed the implementation of this program and have announced their readiness to expand the cultivation of this plant in their lands.
It is worth noting that Panjshir province has witnessed significant progress in recent years, especially in the agriculture and livestock sectors. The leadership of this province has tried to accelerate the process of mechanization of agriculture by holding numerous meetings with national and international institutions and donors.
