Taliban and Pakistani representatives reach agreement in Istanbul

Sources tell Kabul Times News that representatives of the Pakistani government and the Taliban have reached an understanding on ceasefire and cooperation in combating terrorism in informal talks in Istanbul, Turkey.

According to the report, these talks ended today in Istanbul and the parties reached an agreement on a preliminary text of the agreement and signed it.

Sources added that during these talks, issues including the Taliban’s request to designate the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as “terrorist” and Pakistan’s acknowledgement of the presence of the ISIS group on its soil were raised.

However, the official details of this agreement have not been officially confirmed or published by any of the parties so far.
