Deadly traffic accident in Badakhshan; 5 killed, 10 injured

Badakhshan – At least five people, including two women and a child, were killed and ten others injured in a traffic accident in Badakhshan province.

According to Taliban security officials, the incident occurred on Thursday evening on the Kashem-Faizabad highway in the Zamanabad area. In this incident, a Land Cruiser vehicle collided with a cargo truck.

Local sources say that a woman and four children are among the injured. Sirajuddin Mutawakil, the Taliban security commander in Kashem district, announced that the injured have been transferred to Kunduz province with the cooperation of security forces to receive medical services.

The exact cause of the incident has not been determined yet.

Traffic incidents in Afghanistan have increased in recent years, and the main factors include the poor condition of roads, excessive speed, and drivers' failure to observe safety rules.
