Six children were injured in a landmine explosion in Maidan Wardak province.

The Maidan Wardak provincial police command announced that the incident occurred in the Ormar area of ​​​​Daymirdad district. According to officials, the explosion occurred on Wednesday as a result of children playing and carelessly with a landmine.

The source added that all the injured have been transferred to the Maidan Shahr provincial hospital for medical treatment, and the health condition of three of them is reported to be worrying.

This comes while two children were killed and four others were injured in two similar explosions in Nangarhar and Parwan provinces the previous day.

The increase in such incidents has increased concerns about the remnants of explosives from past wars and their threat to civilians, especially children.
