Fazli: 2021 developments were a continuation of an undeclared war against Afghanistan.

Kabul – Fazal Mahmood Fazli, former head of the Afghan Presidential Administration, has said that Afghanistan has been the victim of what he called “undeclared wars” in the 1980s and again in 2021.

In a statement referring to the country’s political and security developments, Fazli claimed that at both historical junctures, figures and groups that have enjoyed the support of Pakistan have played a prominent role in the power structure.

He added that these individuals and movements do not represent the national and political narrative of Afghanistan and should not be considered as reflecting the views of the majority of the Afghan people.

The former head of the administration also warned against repeating past experiences and called on the younger generation to follow the country’s political developments with more awareness and accuracy.

Fazli emphasized that accurate identification of political actors and examination of their roles in Afghanistan’s historical events is essential to prevent the recurrence of future crises and conflicts.

These statements come at a time when the discussion about the role of regional countries in the developments in Afghanistan over the past few decades remains a controversial issue among politicians, analysts and political observers.
