Fatal accident on Jawzjan-Sar-e-Pul highway; five killed, four injured

Local sources have announced that five people were killed and four others were injured after two Hilux and Vitz vehicles collided on the Jawzjan-Sar-e-Pul highway.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, June 25, at around 6:00 PM. The media office of the T-Alban police command in Jawzjan confirmed the incident and said that the injured have been transferred to health centers for treatment.

Experts cite the destruction of parts of the road, the presence of bumps, the lack of adequate signposts, carelessness of drivers, excessive speed of vehicles, and the unfamiliarity of the T-Alban traffic police with traffic rules as the main factors behind the increase in traffic incidents.

In recent months, traffic accidents on the highways in the north of the country have increased significantly.
